Summer is officially over and that means getting into the mindset of nesting and preparing your home for colder weather. Traditionally fall is a great time to be a home buyer as the heavy competition during the summer months will cool down a bit and it is easier make your offers stand out to sellers.  

I'm not going to deny, sometimes it is a bit tough for me to let go of summer so I decided this year to have one last hiking adventure before the season officially changed. Thanks to a busy schedule I only had time for a day trip and I figured I would visit a waterfall I had never explored near Mount Hood - Ramona Falls. Obviously I took my camera with me and decided to share the results with all of you!

Portland's Ghosts of Drive-Ins Past

Officially speaking, there are no longer any drive-in movie theaters within the Portland city limits. I am aware there is a drive-in theater located in Newburg that is quite popular but I have yet to visit. Sitting down and typing this blog post has made me think I should make it a point to go sometime in the near future. There are however some remains of Portland's old drive-in theaters still lingering around the city. I like to fondly refer to them as "architectural ghosts."

Throughout the years they have been repurposed, or in the case of one sign in particular, very lazily preserved, but the bones of their drive-in movie theater past are unmistakable.

Portland June RMLS Market Report

Now that temperatures in the Portland Metro Area have reached the nineties it is impossible to deny that summer is officially here. We’ve got the latest Real Estate numbers up through the month of June!

Perhaps a bit of a mixed blessing for many, the Portland metro area saw some cooler activity this June, but closed sales saw a gain over last month. At 2,946, closed sales slipped 7.6% below the 3,187 closings recorded last year in June 2017, but outpaced May 2018 (2,803) by 5.1%. Even so, June closings were last lower in 2014, when 2,617 were recorded for the month.
